history of the event
Duncan's Run — founded in 2013 in memory of Duncan Orr — is an ultra marathon event held in the beautiful sub-tropic rainforest trails of Gippsland's Tarra Bulga national park, in Victoria, Australia. Originally named "Duncan's Run Hundred", the race used to stretch to a limit of 100km's, with a switch to 50km occurring in 2016/2017 to ease the burden on the organising committee. The run has been patronised by local and visiting runners from far and wide.
WHO WAS DUNCAN?
Duncan Orr, was a spirited young man born and raised in Traralgon, Victoria. He developed a passion for long range running and ultra marathons as a young adult, fulfilling a lifelong dream in 2012, running his first 100km ultra marathon in Mexico. Duncan was a also committed and influential member of the Traralgon Harriers running club.
Duncan passed away in a tragic accident in 2013 and this event, founded by his widow Anna with friends and family, is run in memory of his life and passion for running.
